Gracie had her first dance performance at the Sting Dance Team’s spring show (this is the drill team at the high school, where my cousin Hannah is a senior.) They have a mini dance camp for ages pre-school thru 5th grade, you have two practices get a cute t-shirt and perform at the spring show. So my sister and I thought Thing 1 & Thing 2 (Sophie & Gracie) should totally do it since it was Hannah’s senior year even though they really should have been two years older!! So all day Monday I kept asking Gracie if she was ready for her big performance and every time she was so excited and always said YES. I would catch her practicing all day long she was even having her baby do the moves, so I thought it was going to go quite well…. but boy was I wrong!! When it came time for the pre-school class to dance I don’t think Grace even made it to her spot on the floor when she started to cry, she stood in her spot with both hands over her mouth and cried through the whole song, not doing a single move!!! It was kind of sad, but cute all at the same time! Alyvia and Soph did a bang up job… but for my little one well??? I just hope she is ready in August when she gets signed up for real dancing lessons!! Kyle was in Las Vegas so he wasn’t able to be there for her big debut so after we left I asked Gracie…
Me: Do you want to call your dad and tell him about your dance performance?
Grace: Yes
Me: What are you going to say about it?
Grace: Me tapped my toe
Me: No you didn’t.. you just cried??
Grace: No me danced good!!
